Summer time and the living is easy
The summer is starting out with a bang. We had our first collection of books at a Scientific meeting at the American College of Sports Medicine. It was highly successful. The CEO of ACSM, is a good friend, Jim Whitehead and he orchestrated this extremely well. Not only were books dropped into the boxes, but also they arranged to have 3 publishers send us books. Indeed we are gathering our wings to have the BA Serageldin take off.

We will continue to collect books until Aug. 31, 2017
The ACSM collection has been remarkable. In the next few weeks Janet McDougall will be arranging a book drop at the Statistical Society of Canada in Manitoba, and the Society for Epidemiologic Research will follow shortly afterwards. The book collection has been set up by these societies.

In addition to the amazing donations by you all, the development of this effort with the 5 major scientific organizations has rapidly spread the word about the BA Serageldin Library of Alexandria. This library did not exist on Jan. 1 2016. Now it is the largest research methods library in the world thanks to your generosity. Also, the scientific societies have been remarkable in spreading the world. There are about 130,000 members of the ACSM, SSC, ASA, SER and ACE. All members of these organizations have received emails and newsletters from their headquarters. Amazingly, before the American Statistical Association meetings members will receive 4 notifications. We are thus reaching most of the statistical experts in North America to remind them to send their books. Also, we are building awareness of the glorious BA Serageldin Library of Alexandria.
